In Southern California you don’t need jackets that often but come Winter it gets a little chilly and a nice, lighter jacket is needed even on the sunniest of days.
Plus a nice jacket can either make or break an outfit so it’s great to have an arsenal of go to jackets depending on your outfit and where you’re going.
Here are a few of my favorites that never seem to go out of style and they’re the perfect investment piece:
- This BlankNYC Faux Leather Jacket is the best go to leather jacket when going out at night. It pairs well with cute cocktail dresses or even a white t shirt and distressed denim
- This J. Crew Collarless Sweater Blazer is my go to coat when I need to look a little more conservative, like when I’m in work wear and have an important client presentation. It’s a classic piece that I have in multiple colors.
- The Barbour Beadnell Waxed Cotton Jacket is the epitome of American Classic style, or rather British style, and it really holds up in all types of weather. I love pairing it with unexpected pops of color to add a little more feminine personality.
- A denim jacket is the ultimate closet staple and there’s no better place to get one than at the Gap. I have one in classic blue jean and white for summer months when you need an extra layer walking along the beach at night.
- Lastly, a long coat makes every outfit more chic. I’ve collected quite a few coats from J. Crew, Club Monaco and Anthropologie, but I’m really loving the Sezane Johnson Coat in Navy. It dresses up any casual outfit and I love the menswear inspired silhouette.
What is your go to coat or jacket?

Kristina
