This weekend I decided to experiment with different herbs and seasonal fruit and ended up creating the Blackberry Thyme Tonic in honor of Dry January.
The juicy blackberries really brighten up this drink and the thyme adds a unique, woody aroma. Instead of simple syrup, I used honey for a touch of warm, floral sweetness.
Below is the list of ingredients for one mocktail, just mix and muddle them together, add ice and tonic, or sparkling water if you prefer, and lastly garnish with a spring of thyme and a lemon wedge.
There you have it, an easy weekend mocktail!
- 3 blackberries
- 3 sprigs of thyme (leave one aside for the garnish)
- 1/2 oz of honey or more or less depending on your sweetness preference
- 1 1/2 cups of tonic or sparkling water
- 1 cup of ice
- 1 wedge of fresh lemon for garnish
